Care Guide

Every RIMM piece is handcrafted and requires mindful maintenance. The following care practices will benefit all of your jewelry.

  • Remove jewelry, especially rings, before exercising or doing any form of heavy lifting.

  • Store away before bedtime. It is not uncommon for necklaces to become tangled or prongs on a ring to snag during sleep.

  • Remove before bathing or swimming. Soaps and other bath products can build up and cause your pieces to become lackluster. Chlorine and other chemicals in pools/jacuzzis/baths can weaken your pieces over time.

  • Avoid direct contact with perfume or strong fragrances that may contain ingredients that react with the metal.

  • Jewelry does not belong in the kitchen sink or near harsh chemicals. Remove before performing household chores.

Proper care and maintenance is essential to the lifetime of your fine jewelry. Remember, precious metals are not indestructible. But, if something does happen, more often than not jewelry can be repaired. Careful examination will be required to diagnose the issue and propose an estimate to restore your piece. Here’s a tip: Designate a spot that you go to on a daily basis to keep your every-day pieces. Whether that’s a jewelry box in your dresser or a small dish by your skincare, this routine will help you remember where your jewelry is at all times. We would advise that any high value items be tucked away safely when unworn for a period of time.
